Over 20 representatives from both institutions attended the signing ceremony. Professor Wilfred Mbacham, President of FINISTECH, and Mr. Daniel Coco, PSI’s Country Representative for Cameroon, led the ceremony. This partnership signifies a significant advancement in the fight against cervical cancer, with a focus on the effectiveness of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) prevention strategies in the Far North and Northern regions of Cameroon.

Funded by the Global Vaccine Alliance (GAVI), this research initiative aims to evaluate the efficacy, scalability, and acceptability of integrating the HPV vaccine into adolescent health services. The study targets boys and girls aged 9 to 13, a critical demography for HPV prevention. By assessing the impact of vaccination in this age group, the project seeks to increase HPV vaccine coverage and ultimately reduce cervical cancer rates in the region.
