In a powerful demonstration of community partnership, a comprehensive health outreach event took place on April 5, 2025, bringing together multiple organizations to provide critical medical services to those in need.
The campaign united healthcare professionals and volunteers from the Church of Patmos, Vision of Hope, and the Fobang Foundation in a collaborative effort to address both infectious and non-communicable diseases affecting residents.

Throughout the day, medical teams conducted extensive screenings, provided treatments for various parasitic conditions, and facilitated referrals for those requiring specialized care. The initiative represented a holistic approach to community healthcare, addressing immediate medical needs while creating pathways to continued treatment.

“This outreach exemplifies what we can accomplish when different organizations pool their resources and expertise.” “We’re not just treating symptoms but building connections that strengthen our healthcare ecosystem,” said Dr. Marceline Shundale Ayuh’mbi, who coordinated the event.
The success of the outreach relied heavily on a diverse volunteer force, including practitioners and students from multiple disciplines. Medical laboratory technicians, nurses, midwives, and physiotherapists from The Fobang Institute for Innovation in Science and Technology, FINISTECH led by Professor Wilfred Fon Mbacham, Founder of FINISTECH. They worked alongside the Cameroon Med Students Association and Gifted Hands organization members.

Visiting physicians Dr. GT Awasum and Dr. Eric Ndone traveled from Boumyebel to lend their expertise, further enhancing the range of services available to attendees.

The organizers expressed gratitude for the generous support from donors and partners whose contributions made the event possible, emphasizing that such initiatives represent a vital supplement to existing healthcare infrastructure.
“Each screening potentially represents a life changed,” noted one volunteer. “Early detection and intervention can alter the trajectory of someone’s health journey completely.”

As the outreach concluded, organizers shared hopes that the patients who received care would experience healing and renewed strength while also highlighting plans for future collaborative health initiatives to continue serving vulnerable populations.
