Malaria Consortium Board Chair Conducts Strategic Tour Across  Nigeria

Professor Wilfred Fon Mbacham, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Malaria  Consortium, recently completed a comprehensive one-week tour across  Nigeria, culminating in a restitution briefing last week. The high-level visit included strategic stops in key Nigerian cities and meetings with government officials, highlighting the organization’s commitment to malaria control in the region.

During his tour, Professor Mbacham visited several major Nigerian cities,  including Abuja, the federal capital, Kano in the north, and the southwestern city of Osun. These visits were designed as part of the means to  strengthen the consortium’s presence and impact across different regions of  Nigeria.

A significant highlight of the tour was Professor Mbacham’s visit to the  Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, where he held important discussions with the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare. The meeting, which took place on January 24, 2025, also included other members of the malaria consortium’s Nigeria-Restitution team.

While briefly visiting Nigeria, Professor Mbacham visited the Corporate  Affairs Commission to accelerate the registration process for Malaria  Consortium’s Malaria and Public Health, MPH Ltd Nigeria.

The tour demonstrates the Malaria Consortium’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its partnerships and programs in Nigeria, one of the countries most affected by malaria in Africa. Through such high-level engagements, the organization continues to support efforts to combat malaria and public health outcomes in the region.
